Gasification technology is a big hit in France: Amiens Energies/Engie chooses Dall
Dall Energy is experiencing increasing demand in France for our gasification technology, and 2023 was truly a French year. At the beginning of the year, the paper group Clairefontaine invested in a Dall Energy solution.
By October 2023, French energy giant ENGIE Solutions followed suit and Amiens Energies signed a contract with Dall Energy for a 14 MW district heating plant in the northern French city of Amiens. Amiens Energies is a SEMOP (public private partnership) owned in part by the city of Amiens, Engie Solutions and the French bank Caisse des Dépôts.
Amiens is rich on biomass resources
In France, biomass - and especially the type of biomass residuals used in Dall Energy’s biomass and pyrolysis plants, is universally recognized as a key element in the green transition. Biomass gasification technology presents a way to move away from using natural gas by utilizing the country's large amounts of garden and park waste, as well as other types of biomass waste.
The city of Amiens specifically has large quantities of this type of biomass resource. Dall Energy’s combi-technological plants, where biomass is gasified via pyrolysis, are an ideal solution for the city’s new district heating network.
