Cogeneration based on biomass allows production of sustainable electricity in addition to heat. Most clients prefer utilisation of the Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC), which is based on a hot oil system and a turbine. This system is especially suitable for plants with a capacity below approx. 30 MWt and it is a simple and reliable system compared to a Steam Turbine Generator (STG) set.
